I know about DLTOLDSPLF and I can handle CPYSPLF to db file etc. also I know about SNDNETF and SNDTCPSPLF. What I really want is to be able to use the spool file API's. I dont have access to a C compiler on our AS400. I am hoping that someone has an RPG program that uses the spool file API's. (the latest TAATOOLS has almost what I want but it is not all RPG) Converting C to RPG is not within my ability. I need a starting point so that I can learn and at the same time develop in-house a spool file distribution function. When a report is generated we need to send it to a number of printers. We achieve this at present via SNDNETSPLF, this is working fine. If I had access to the spool file APIs I could make the current programs structures less complex, as presently I need to set up dummy user profiles that are associated to printers and have OFFICE enrollments etc etc. I almost got SNDTCSPLF doing the trick, but there is a slight flaw. It sends out unwanted messages. SOMETIMES THE MESSAGES GO OUT AS SPOOL FILES. This unwanted message problem comes up many times. I saw posts to this forum with messages coming from comms lines going online and offline. I cannot see a way to prevent SNDTCPSPLF from sending its normal completion mesage. If I could do this I wouldnt need the APIs. By the way where do you find the QYSINC lib. Thanks > > 4. Check out API's in qsysinc library to write your own spool control > > programs.
