Tell him to check out the "Netserver" facility that is built-in and packaged
FREE with OS/400! Works extremely well for file sharing print sharing
applications
which is the bulk of the work that most LANS really do.

Integrates with Windows/NT, Windows/95, and Windows/98 better than
Windows/NT does.
And it doesn't fall over every day!

Nina, you'd be interested in a conversation I had this morning. The
fellow is in the AS/400 part of a large system. The NT server side has
recently installed more dollars of hardware and software in one shot than
the AS/400 side has ever installed. He said that was the last ditch
effort of top management to get the NT servers working. The servers did
no better and the entire NT department was fired excepting two new hires.
I suggested they consider OS/2 servers since the track record is so good
and they are starting over anyhow. His response was "Really? Thats still
around? Who's selling it now?" There's a place, a big shop, that loves
the AS/400 and IBM, and doesn't even know IBM is offering PC servers.
