RE: AS/400 data inquiry via telephone

I've used the Missing Link product for a number of customers.  Very flexible 
and easy to program
using RPG and their special character strings to speak pre-recorded messages 
and numbers, letters,
etc.

I don't know if it does synthesized speech.  We never fooled with reading back 
a name like "Fred
Jones".

Example Code to say "Your delivery date is July 19, 1999"

                Move "#M301"       Out,1
'#D'            Cat  DlvDate       Out,2
                Exsr Speak

The #M301 says to play pre-recorded message 301 "Your Delivery Date is"
The '#D says read the next characters in date format"

The EXSR Speak Subroutine is the missing link provided code.  Don't know/care 
what it does.

They provide lots of programming examples and skeleton code.
