We started using SAVRSTxxx (back when it was an PRPQ) to get around the
problem of SNADS going down when DASD went over threshhold (no we've fixed
that problem the right way - with more DASD!). SAVRSTxxx requires less
DASD than SAV / SNDNETF / RST

OS/400 - ObjectConnect is option 22 of OS/400. It was originally a
chargeable RPQ, but when (almost) nobody bought it, they made it
free. Nevertheless, as most people do automatic installs, most people
don't have it.

I use these commands in lieu of what you're doing. They do not perform as
well, but they are easy to use. It's kind of like the difference between a
manual and an automatic transmission.
