Also what kind of emulation do you have? Client Access, Rumba? ____________________Reply Separator____________________ Subject: Re: PC Print Files to AS400 Printer Author: "Pat Barber" [SMTP:MBOCEANSIDE@postoffice.worldnet.att.net] Date: 7/30/99 3:23 PM Joe Giusto wrote: > > I would like to know if there is a way to have PC print output directed to > and AS400 printer. > > We have a Classified advertising system and the vendor said that they could > program output to go to any printer on the network. Our AS400 is connected > to the network. The only thing is that they said it has to be a Postscript > or ASCII printer. We have an IBM 6408, IBM 4234, and a Genicom 4410 Depends on "how" you are in the network and how you setup the printer... Also depends on what version of OS/400 you are running.. Later versions, like V4R2--> have some much better host print transform.... PCL shouldn't be a problem with HPT... I use a 4049 locally, and it's a PCL printer attached to a 3487 using HP Lazer Jet emulation.... CA/400 will handle this situation also, as will TCP/IP attached printers... Soooo ... short answer is maybe... tell us more about your setup.... +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
