Bob, Your suggestions have helped greatly in my search for a solution. Thanks!! I ended up looping on QSYSOPR to find the specific *INQ message the program had sent. Where I get into trouble is when I try to receive a specific message. The problem is the msg key from the SNDPGMMSG cmd refers to the sender's copy, not the actual *INQ message. The only way to get the key of a specific *INQ message is to read *INQ messages from the msgq until you find the msg you want. Not something I want to do against QSYSOPR, but I don't have any choice.
