We are a JDE shop and have started journalling for all JDE files. Even though
JDE doesn't use commitment control, we can (and have) used the journals to
backout updates that have been made in error.

We have also used the journals in disaster recovery tests to perform forward
recovery from the last save of the library.

We have a 530-2153 and have not found journalling to be a noticeable impact on
the system. We have two disk arms in ASP 2 dedicated to journal receivers.

We happen to have a program that runs every 1/2 hours that gens new journal
receivers, but I suppose we could have had the system manage them.
