Just a quick reminder that if you set an expiration date of 12/31/99 for
a tape it will be marked "permanent retention". This has apparently
been an industry practice for many years on numerous operating systems,
but may cause some aggravation as we approach December of '99 for those
of you who automatically write an expiration date of a month or two in
the future.
APAR SA66698 documents this. My customer called this a Y2K bug, I think
it's a feature. I'm posting this to the forum as penance.
