No. Thank you for reminding me. I believe one of the manuals (backup and
recovery) has something on drive initialization but don't quote me on it. I
would think you would be around 4 plus hours for drive initialization on your
machine. Will you be raiding the machines for the test period? If this is for
a test period and you feel daring you can initialize the drives and not setup
any protection.....I wouldn't do it but it is an option. Someone else here
probably has a much more accurate estimate on drive intialization than I
do....:)

Does that include the scratch time?

My minimal experience with DR testing uses a rule of thumb for
reload of double
your backup time. Assuming you are using save with access paths
*YES. If *NO
     all bets are off.....

Thanks for all the advice on Y2K - scratch and reload. I love this
list.
One last question...How long (all of you who have experience or not)
do you
think it will take to scratch and reload a Model 320 120gig 3.2
machine. I
will be doing two, that is 2.... full system saves (option 21 on
save menu).
It takes about 5 hours to backup this box.

We start this evening at 5:00 p.m.
