DASD Usage - DISKTASKS

I have found the same thing. I ran DISKTASKS on a system  with 200 gigabytes
of
and 100,000 objects, and it took 26 hours to run (and it was the weekend,
when
no one was in).

DSPOBJD is much faster for gathering disk info. Nearly two years ago, I
wrote an
article for the Toronto Users Group magazine, outlining some things to
consider
when deciding whether to use DSPOBJD or DISKTASKS. 

It is kind of dated now (e.g. considers shared folders, but not IFS).
However,
if you're interested, I'll be glad to email you a copy.
