Boy Pat, you are either psychic (and what IS that winning PowerBall #) or you've
"been there done that" !!!

I don't dispute for a SECOND what those of you at the "big shops" are saying but
having left one of those last year and moved to a MUCH smaller shop that was
moving from an NCR Unix machine to the AS/400 it WAS one HECK of a sell. I think
the ONLY reason that  I got folks to (1) Understand this thing and (2) agree to
it was the fact that they respected what I said and knew of my background. Folks
here are VERY willing to listen but you have to prove the benefit of things like
this.
Didn't help that they had MINIMAL maintenance on the Unix box, home grown apps,
etc. Luckily the Controller here, came from where I left, a year before I did 
and
could explain it well from the $$$ side...

IBM has GOT to be able to do a better job with this stuff !!!
