They didn't hire a company to do it? Amazing.

I suggest that you have a knowledgeable French MIS person (not someone from
Quebec - there are too many differences in the dialect) check out the
translations.  If you do not know anyone I could supply some references if
needed.  Why? because while I worked for IBM the biggest complaint we got
from
Europe was that the translations were so bad that many users prefer to run
their
system in English so they can understand what is going on!!  Many years ago
translation was done by SEs working in their spare time - the translations
were
accurate and reflected the correct technical usage of the language.  Then
some
genius decided that using professional translators would be cheaper.
Trouble is
they are not computer literate.  Over the years as computer terms invaded
daily
life the translations have improved, but it is a long way from being
perfect.
