The 9402-400 was the follow on product to the 9402-200(The first black
boxes)..

The 9402-400 was the first of the "new" risc boxes...(same as 9402-200)
with
new processor and memory...

The F series was the last of the "white" boxes and the last 9404...
There was NO upgrade per se, although you could carry certain feature
codes forward, it was basically a box swap(fork lift upgrade) with 
disk drives and comm gear being able to go forward...
