Ya you betcha!  Routers are strange beasts.  They can make or take clocking, 
they
can be DCE or DTE, V.24 or V.35, ethernet token-ring FDDI ATM ISDN,
point-to-point or frame, LAN WAN and VLAN, they can spread requests to one IP
address to multiple ones, they can swap IP addresses and ports going both ways,
they can filter (block) traffic and route traffic, encrypt decrypt tranform or
forward-packets and lots of stuff I can't even describe because most of you 
would
have no idea what it means (or I am lousy at describing it).

  There is ONE thing that is for certain: and that is they are vegatables by
default. You must enable everything that you want them to do.
