We have a 620-2175 with 512mb of memory, 40gb disk (minus raid overhead),
the AS/400 firewall, and Domino 4.2. I am not real pleased with the
performance of Domino on this machine, but we are adding more memory and
hope it will improve. Our CPU percentage was less than 30% until Domino, now
we are generally in the 80s and 90s. Some of that is adding more users,
maybe changing to raid, etc. But I rarely have more than 70 users logged on,
and have less than 100 domino mail clients.

I really don't know much about AS/400s, but I think your proposed machine
will run much better than mine. If you are not pretty sharp on Domino, you
might be well advised (from one that should take his own advice), and get
someone that is. Your plans sound a lot like ours on the future use of
Domino, but we are not progressing nearly as fast as anyone would like.
