• Subject: question about OS/400 and SSP

hey all,

I've got a question I hope one of you can help me with.

If you have an advanced S/36 running both S/36-SSP and OS/400, can the
s/36 programs, running under SSP access native DB2/400 files?

The reason I'm asking is that I've got a customer who has a perfectly
good system written in rpgII and ocl via SSP only, running on a 236,
that does exactly what they want it to do. We'd like upgrade them to a
dual OS 436 to convert and externalize their database, so that new
developement would be easier, and could be written in more "modern"
languages, without having to convert the entire s36 system (especially
the ocl :)

Running in S/36 environement is an option, but not a very good one. I
would like to continue using SSP.

Has anyone out there done this sort of thing?

Thanks,

Rick
