Thanks for the suggestion. I wished it would work in Windows 98. Unfortunately, Windows 98's version of net use does not have the /user parameter. -----Original Message----- From: Eric Sundell PMI [mailto:ESundell@delta.org] Sent: Thursday, November 04, 1999 5:57 PM To: "Diana Hicks" ; "'Midrange-L submission'" Subject: Re:NetServer: Accessing files with unmatched passwords Here's a few suggestions: Use a 'Guest User Profile' you can find all kind of documentation for that. When you map a drive to Netserver, use the 'Login as' part of the mapping and use whatever profile you want. if you Check the box for 'Reconnect at login' it will ask for the right password. Try this in a Bat file: net use I: \\QS103ZPFM\QDLS * /USER:USERNAME /persistent:yes I use this in NT in the Startup Folder, it might work in 98. The '*' makes it ask for a password and '/persistent:yes' makes it permanent. Hope this helps, Eric Sundell AS400/PC Specialist PMI/Delta Dental I heard on the news today that Bill Gates and his wife are expecting a baby in June. I'm betting that baby will be late. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
