No, I am using basic CPYF or DSPPFM.

I did a CRTDDMF and specified TYPE(*IP), then I tried to do  a CPYF using 
MBROPT(*REPLACE)

DSPPFM on the remote file did not work either.

Are you using SQL? if so, when you issue the connect, you pass the userid and 
password. E.G.

CONNECT to DATABASENAME User USERNAME Using PASSWORD
