A controlled demo in a >software houses presentation room should not be enough to justify the >purchase of software. This all happened before I started working here, but the software was in-house running in evaluation mode for some FOUR MONTHS before going live with it. With all the bugs, I can't understand why the decision was made to actually go for it. The decision was made by the MIS Director previous to the one who hired me. Apparently he was all gung-ho on this software for some reason; I don't know why. One of the reasons for switching from the package that was being used is that the current package is supposedly Y2K compliant (in the dreams of someone on hard drugs maybe). The old package definitely wasn't. Quite frankly, I think it would have been better to make the old package compliant. Ken Southern Wine and Spirits of Nevada, Inc.
