Here is the problem:

We have customers doing a backup nightly, but since it backups up one file in
particular (their web file) no one can access their web site during this time.

Possible solution?:


To everything else suggested, I would consider using a save while active. This
sets pointers in the files but also only puts a 15 to 20 minute lock on the
files in the whole library.  Also consider using CPYF of whole file to another
duplicate file called Web-Backup, if it is not too huge, because CPYF does not
lock an object.
