Deletion of files on FTP transfer

When some of our users attempt to transfer files from our server to the AS400
they are unable to do so as the corresponding file on the AS400 is unable to be
deleted first, via this process. Our server people say this is an AS400 problem
- however the users are set up with *ALLOBJ authority and can delete the file
directly on the AS400. Should I be looking at another area on the AS400 rather
than USRPRF.

Any thoughts or solutions greatly appreciated.
