I had done this several time(I used to be an SE for IBM) and, depending on the system hardware configuration it could be as easy like put it on the back of a pickup truck or as difficult as killing a lion with a toothpick. There are several things that you should be aware of: 1. BACKUP'S: Have at least 2 set of backup's, one SAVSTG and one Option 21 menu SAVE. 2. LABEL EVERYTHING don't be cheap on this. Any cable or connection coming to/from your AS/400, Any box, any piece of hardware must be labeled. 3. Do a good packing. 4. If you don't have a really big time window, don't try to change any configuration once you are at your destination. 5. and most important PLAN everything ahead and stick to the plan. If you need any more information, contact me privately. We packed the old equipment into the new equipment's boxes and shipped it. We sent along one set of complete system backup tapes. After the equipment arrived, we flew out carrying the second set of complete system backups. Of course this was a small model 200. Later we replaced the 200 with a new 170 which was shipped to our headquarters where we installed all the application etch. We then labeled everything, packed back into the original shipping containers and shipped to our remote site. Again we sent one set of tapes with the box and carried the second set with us. Since we are a 24x7x365.25 operation I would not move our data center, instead I would purchase new equipment for the new location and just move the data. Christopher K. This could include all Networking components as well as an AS/400. Has anyone had any experience in relocating an AS/400? Any ideas as to costs associated with?
