While I was running a TAATOOL process (CHKDBD) which analyzes physical
files with dependant logical files in different libraries,
I encountered the following error:
CPF32BE Escape 40 01/26/00 16:05:44 QDBEXTWU QSYS 0374 QWHDSDBR QSYS
0145
Message . : An error occurred while accessing a system cross reference
file.
Cause . . . . . : An attempt was made to retrieve
referential
constraint dependent file information for file SYSPARMS in
library
QSYS2 for member *N. However, the operation was not done
for reason
code 1. See the low level messages previously listed to
locate the
cause. The reason codes are: 1 - While accessing
information from
the system cross reference file, an error occurred in the
cross
reference file. 2 - The information from the system cross
reference
file could not be retrieved. Recovery . . . : Do the
following
for the specified reason code: 1 - Reclaim storage (RCLSTG
command)
to update the system cross reference files, and try the
request
again at a later time. 2 - IPL the machine to correct the
error.
This error is indicating that I need to update the system cross reference
files....
I'm assuming I could run RCLSTG SELECT(*DBXREF). I have never run just a
DBXREF reclaim storage before.
I know that a full reclaim can take hours. I don't want to get started down
this road and then have to inform my users that the
system will be down for hours. Does anyone know how long a DBXREF reclaim
storage might run?
I have a Model 530 4 way with 4GB of memory and around 450GB of disk 70%
full.
