Brad, : Why would RPG have a problem? Sure, you'd need to use the apis to read an : IFS file, but that isn't so bad. : : Anyhow, hopefully one would buy a translator. Parsing XML has to be worse : that X.12. And while I'd love the challenge, I can think of better things : to do with my time. :) If you use XML, at some point you'll be parsing - there's no getting away from it. Currently RPG will have a problem because the C++ XML parser for the AS/400 is going to be fairly difficult to interface yourself with RPG. If IBM port/or create a C version and create some *SRVPGMS from it (I've done it for a small free source C version) than access from ILE/RPG will be almost instant (just the prototypes to map to ILE/RPG). But currently RPG has a problem... --phil +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
