If you use XML, at some point you'll be parsing - there's no getting
away from it. Currently RPG will have a problem because the C++ XML
parser for the AS/400 is going to be fairly difficult to interface
yourself with RPG.

If IBM port/or create a C version and create some *SRVPGMS from it
(I've done it for a small free source C version) than access from
ILE/RPG will be almost instant (just the prototypes to map to
ILE/RPG).

But currently RPG has a problem...
