We have one NP17 and two NP12 printers. From my experience, the NP12's are
more trouble than they're worth. I finally had to "frankenstein" the two
together to make one useable printer. On the other hand, the NP17 has been
reliable, although ours is deployed in a fairly low volume location.

Our IBM 3116 printers all have well over a million pages on them with very
little maintenance...just the usual fuser and roller replacements. We have
had them for about 3 years with no major problems.

Just my two cents...

P.S. If you put your two cents in, but only get a penny for your thoughts,
who is making the profit?

We use IBM network printers although they may be a little overkill for your
duty
cycle. We use the NP17 (purchase price with TWX and duplex around $1900).
We
love them and use them everywhere. Another option is the NP12 (purchase
price
with TWX and duplex around $1300). We don't use them but I would assume
they
should work just fine. Be aware your prices will be more if you want to do
IPDS
or anything else that requires more memory.
