Larry,

Thanks for the response, it was quite reassuring. We can't take XD1 off right
now, since we still have users who are 2 to 4 service packs back who are
supposed to be loading the current one next week, plus there will probably be a
few more new PC's in the next few weeks that we'll put the old release on and
need to load the service pack onto. The goal is to be ready to start cutting
users over to Express sometime in March, but the reality will probably be that
the last one won't get switched until May or even June. I'm afraid we're too
understaffed and the plants are just too spread out geographically to get it
done quicker.

Thanks again!

David,

I can tell you that V3R1M3 of CA will work on a V4R4 system with little
problem
but no new functionality. As you are already planning the migration to Express
you are on the right track for sure. Since the XD1 product is the CLIENT side
of
the 'older' CA if you don't upgrade it, it will sit there at V3R1M3 so your PC
users who still run the Check Version won't be asked to upgrade. Unless you are
actually using the AS/400 for loading PTFs to the clients I would recommend that
you simply remove the XD1 product from your system prior to the upgrade. The
existance of XD1 on the AS/400 is not required to run it on the client side.

You will want to make sure the XE1 product gets loaded during the upgrade as
that is the Express Version.
