Yes, it's possible. Assign a IP adress for HP JetDirect and, in as400,
create a DEVPRT and especify this IP adress and a port number for that HP
Jectdirect. In this case (Jet Direct) , especify port 1= 9100, port2=9101
and port3=9102 for witch printer. If the printer not support PCL/PJL ,
then you can only create a RMTOUTQ More information, see the technical
document *LAN TCP/IP ASCII Printer Support ( or i send you via e-mail )

Subject: Using 4230 printers with HP Jetdirect print server (3 port versi
      on)

Hi everyone,

Two weeks ago we upgraded from Model 400 to 720 , from V3R7 to V4R4 .
We are using our 4230 printers connected to HP Jetdirect cards and with
MS SNA Server on the NT .
Is it possible to print directly from the AS/400 to the cards/printers
correctly
based on TCP/IP ?
Did anyone try it before?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
