In the cl i have

WRKSBSJOB  SBS(QBATCH) OUTPUT(*PRINT)
SNDMSG     MSG('EXCEPTION OCURRED DURING F
             JOBLOG IN OUTQ QPRINTS') TOUS


once you answer the message in qsysopr, it does the monmsg routine and 
continues.

I am researching this. Sounds like diagnostic messages cannot be montiored?

I will keep reading the books.
