Ahem! Watch where you go with rotary-engined sports machines! Bought an '84 RX-7 new; was the best car I ever owned. Didn't sell it until ten years later, when child #3 necessitated something more family-like. RX-7 owners can be compared to AS/400 zealots. They love their car / platform with a passion. Of course, Mazda don't make the RX-7 anymore... :( (Geez, where's the IBM analogy there?) Oh, and this is from a guy who lives in the Detroit area and, of all his working relatives at the time, 80% of whom worked for one of the Big 3. You _had_ to be passionate to buy a Japanese car. And a little crazy. - Dan Bale -----Original Message----- From: Schenck, Don [mailto:Don.Schenck@WL.com] Sent: Monday, March 20, 2000 3:00 PM To: 'MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com' Subject: RE: Tipton's COMMON opening speech This from a guy who drove a ROTARY-engined car. -----Original Message----- From: Shaw, David [mailto:dshaw@spartan.com] Sent: March 20, 2000 1:49 PM To: 'MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com' Subject: RE: Tipton's COMMON opening speech You wanna know the scary part? The longer you know him, the more sense he makes. <grin> I've known him long enough that I sometimes forget he's crazy (never for very long, though ;). And he's certainly correct this time!
