Pete, the parameters to CEETREC are listed as omissible
in the API documentation. For an omissible parameter,
you must pass the parameter; "omissible" means that you
may pass a special value that means "no parameter". In
RPG, you pass *OMIT; in other languages, you pass a null
pointer.

If an API parameter is documented as "optional", it means
you can leave it out.

You can get away with passing no parameters almost all the
time but occasionally there will actually be a valid pointer
where CEETREC looks for your parameter. In this case,
unexpected results could occur (different results each time
ranging from an exception to data corruption). These are
very nasty problems to debug.
