Does anyone have an example of the Retrieve Operational Descriptor API they
can share, or rather the way you use the results? Specifically, I'm looking
to determine if a parameter is numeric or character (varying size), and its
length. From the API manual, I suppose that the DESCTYPE will be 2, but the
DATATYPE doesn't really tell me if the field is character or numeric.

Thanks,
