Bill -- One other comment I haven't noticed as yet: True, CFINIT kicks in to regulate "interactive" use. By "interactive" IBM announcements (and innumerable IBM presentations) mean ANY green screen or green-screen emulation. Including: * CA/400 and third party terminal emulators REGARDLESS of connection type. * "real" twinax "fixed function" displays -- again regardless of how it is connected. * the 5250->HTTP converter in TCP/IP(!). * 3270 displays signing on via the internal 5250->3270 support. * And yes the "native" 5250 emulator in the IBM "thin client" box. IBM didn't miss any tricks when "finding" interactive functions running "green screens". If this sounds like a "push" to go "truly" client/server .... maybe it is. I've been told by more than one IBMer that we can thank the PC servers for the high overall box CPW with low(er) software prices if the interactive CPW is also "low". (OK -- no flames -- I just pass along what I've heard.) >>Almost every time I run the WRKSYSACT command I find a system function >>CFINT01 just sucking the system dry. Anyone have an explanation of what this hog is? >>Bill Erhardt Best regards George Lemen Sr. Project Analyst, CIBER Inc.
