| Just to let people know there are ways for a virus
to attack a desktop without opening e-mail attachments or even using e-mail.
SANS.org has documented an Active-X problem from 1999 (many people may not have
gone to windowsupdate to get the fix). In Microsoft's words "The net effect of the
vulnerabilities is that a web page could take unauthorized action against a
person who visited it. Specifically, the web page would be able to do anything
on the computer that the user could do." See  http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms99-032.asp .
