RE: Running AS/400 with cover off and care of Drives

We once had a card that was acting up intermittently, one time we left the
cover off(knew we would probably want it off again soon) and the card never
acted up again.  Our guess was that the machine runs a little cooler with
the cover off, so we usually leave them off.  I think the cover is mainly
for routing cables and looks.
