This is a performance question. My AS/400 application communicates with a
Windows NT Server via sockets. Lots of data is passed between the two
programs, so performance is important. In most cases, LANs are a
performance bottleneck.

Would higher data throughput occur with an Integrated Netfinity Server vs.
an external, 100 megabit Ethernet-attached server? Would the internal bus
be faster than an external LAN?

Following is a quote copied from the AS/400 Information Center:

"The connection between AS/400 and the Integrated Netfinity Server uses an
internal (or virtual) LAN. Both systems perceive that they are using TCP/IP
to communicate over a token-ring network. "

Does this mean that communication between the AS/400 and the Integrated
Netfinity Server is 16 megabit token-ring? Or is it faster?
