I once worked for a company that admittedly underpaid its employees, but
promised two bonuses a year. Unfortunately, however, this amounted to a
heavy investment in the stock market - and external factors added a great
amount of risk to the equation.

After I left, they 'fixed' the bonus system and I understand really
aggravated even more employees.

But, in all fairness, I knew the score when I hired on.
I think stock options are a good idea, and especially liked the resort
idea. Does anyone know of a web page devoted to employee incentive ideas?

I really believe a verbal 'nice job' is both cost-effective and one of the
best morale boosters, anyway. Too often, employers expect miracles to be
repeated without understanding the complexities and effort required.

Dan Rasch - because if the human species concentrated on the really
important things in life, there would be a shortage of fishing poles!
