I can think of three reasons to give bonus: 1) To reward exceptional accomplishment 2) To get id of excess cash when the company is doing way to well. 3) To encourage more (or less) of a certain behavior The best of these reasons is number 3. A bonus should incent someone to do something more or better. So I'd turn the question around to you: What do you wan these folks to do more of, or do better next year? jte -- John Earl johnearl@400security.com The PowerTech Group 206-575-0711 PowerLock Network Security www.400security.com -- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
