when in college, and shortly after graduation, many years ago, i did my
share of job hopping for many of the reasons mentioned in the past
(primarily money, and moving to a bigger town) i went through 4
progamming jobs in 5 years.

but then, i begin contract programming and have been doing it now for 25
years.

we've gotten resumes from people that have 20 years work experience, and
haven't kept the same job for 2 of them. either the person can't work
and play well with others, is a terrible programmer and gets canned, or
gets bored easily and moves on. and none of those are good if you want
a stable person that will stay with you.
