I know this has gone on for a while, but IMHO users hate the DDS editing capabilities, the little blinking message, and the need to press RESET or CTRL to continue. I like alpha fields on the screen (dare I say "pc-like"), and I use the RPG opcode Check or Checkr and a predefined character string to verify that no "bad" characters are entered. You build the routines 1 time, and copy them into every new pgm, or better yet, build a service pgm or procedure to do the edit. Decent messages with no reset required, edited in the order you control within your pgm. Jim Franz ----- Original Message ----- From: "James W.
