We had the same system.  510/2143.  We also mirrored the two internals just
like you are.  You did not mention which IOP the other 10 drives are
attached to, Just the load source which are internal drives.  If you have
the 6512 it can handle 16 - 6607 drives with two raid sets of 8 drives each.
That is what we had on the 510 and brought to our 720.

Could you, if you know, how to find out if my IOP is incapable of supporting
more than 1 RAID set.  Are you also claiming that I have 48gig of DASD on my
510?  If so, could you explain the use of the mirrored DASD.  Below you'll
find detail information on my IOP.
