God, I hope not.  I used to work on a Basic 4 computer years ago.  If 
you didn't retension the tapes each and every time you tried to backup 
you had a 70% chance of failure.  Good thing the client was a member of 
the Elks and their lodge was next door.

I have recently heard rumors that there is a PTF to avoid causing *QIC 
cartridges to re tension.  Does anyone know anything about this?
