How would you be accessing the key? If it is from an interactive display 
screen then when you make the display screen, make a hidden field for the 
relative record number and chain by record number.  If it is from some 
sort of batch program using detail records then you're pretty well stuck.

Will someone please confirm or discredit my thinking about ....adding or 
accessing a file with non-unique key

If I add two records with the same key..... because the key is not 
specified, it will allow this..

When I go to access that key with a chain... there is not guarentee that I 
will get the first record added.. it is random which record I will get.. 
because of the way the AS/400 stores data.....

Will someone weigh in on this.....
