OK - From my understanding comes the following;
1)        The HTTP servers should be bound to the IP address via the tcp/ip host table entries - but you probably know that.
1a)        If you have MANY AS/400 HTTP servers and would like to consolidate them, you can have them all respond as long as they come in using different URL's by changing the welcome directive - so WELCOME index.html www.soandso.com and this would simulate multiple servers running - and as a bonus - the servers could share content - you probably knew much of this though.
2)        Many of the Domino settings are outside the control the OS/400, but it's been about 8 months since I set this up.  I had an easier time finding much of the url's being set-up when I used the web based domino setup tools.  I had the Domino Server "listen" on email.sci-e.com while demo.sci-e.com was my standard server.  After playing with the servers some more, and having one server "multiple welcome" - the HTTP server can service many URL's from a single server.  This assumed that the URL's were setup in the URL table.  PLEASE make sure that if www.soandso.com - have soandso.com also listened in your table, and make sure the welcome statement inside the http server configuration also listen for that too - I've seen the www omitted and since the server isn't listening for that "unpredictable results" will happen.

Hope I helped... I'm not sure though...

Subject: Multiple HTTP & Domino Instances...

Afternoon All,

Interesting situation going on, could really use some feed back in
the interest of time:

            1.) OS/400 Version 4.4

2.) Domino 5.0.3  (Not yet Active)

            3.) HTTP Servers

            4.) Multi-Homed IP on a single adapter..

Problem,  Trying to configure an HTTP Server for each IP Address
and
then add a Series of Domino NSF applications transparently under the
server.
So we have defined multiple instances, and each instance of the HTTP server
will start and function against the proper IP address only.  But if we try
to start the second instance it hangs on a signal 12 ?  Anyone else doing
this, what did we miss ??  Should we be using the Websphere Engine above
the
HTTP server ??

Next, I seem to recall a note that said in this configuration you
do
NOT start the Domino HTTP server but rather configure Domino to utilize
HTTP or is it Websphere servers to handle the requests from Browsers ??
Anyone doing this yet ??  Any good pointers to on-line help ??

Last question,  Has anyone tried Payment MANAGER with the Cybercash
interface yet  ??
