Hi All, Our 270 was delivered late Fri last. On Sat AM it was unpacked & up to a signon screen in less than 30 mins. (IPL aprox 10 mins). Awsome response times (be it only on system tasks at this stage) so we figure we'll be serving the fastest web pages we ever served, in about 4 hours time, after we restore some software & web sites from our production 170. 4 DAYS later & its all downhill. Can't restore *ALLUSR from V4R4. The RISC to RISC Road Map, SA41-5155-04 tells us we must upgrade our 4.4 production box to 4.5 and then save our data & programs. Come on IBM, when did we ever have to upgrade the source system in the past? I've come from 32,34,36,38,400 CISC to RISC and I can't remember ever having to upgrade my old system when I buy a new box. (The whole purpose of a new box is we want to continue client services & support at a lower level of OS and avoid any downtime) Anyhow the 170 at 4.4 is a 7x24 web server which we don't WANT to upgrade. Even if we wanted to we can't upgrade it as no 4.5 CDs shipped with the 270 (following soon!). So we're stuck with a 270 we can't use because we can't get our programs or data on to it. Even NT can't be this bad. Anyone any ideas? Could we run the 270 on 4.4? Anyone tried it?
