If you code the record images as externally described DSs (the easiest way)
then you can use LIKE to do the sizing for you.  For example (not spaced
correctly and not tested) you can do something like this:

 D TriggerDS        DS
 D .....
 D* Fixed bit goes here
 D .......
 D BeforeImage                  LIKE(BeforeDS)
 D AfterImage                   LIKE(AfterDS)


 D BeforeDS       E DS          EXTNAME(FileName) PREFIX(B_)
BASED(pBeforeDS)

 D AfterDS        E DS          EXTNAME(FileName) PREFIX(A_)
BASED(pAfterDS)
