Actually, there is an alternative. Use the hyphen (-) and field exit rather than Field-. If you're using an emulator with a remappable keyboard (like Client Access), you can do this right in the keyboard map so that the key can still be used. Just create a macro, then remap the key to the macro. Dave Shaw Spartan International, Inc. Spartanburg, SC -----Original Message----- From: William A.(Tony) Corbett [mailto:corbett@asresources.com] Ron, If you're referring to the special character (L or J or whatever, depending on the last number) showing up in place of the trailing "-" when you use Field-, I don't believe there is a way to change that. The field will redisplay correctly when you resdisplay the screen, honoring the edtcode (or edtword) you have on the field. If this is not what you're referring to, I have no idea. The short answer is: redisplay the screen. We have a series of screens that will display the special character for a negative when a negative value is entered. The edit code is "L". It does not seem to matter what the edit code is set at, it still displays that special character on the screens. What do we need to do to get it to display a "-" instead?
