People will tell you anything(depends on what you asked them) You got a few ways to do this: 1. Using a auto-sync on your end and some software like CA/400, or Personal Communications. Auto-Sync modems can be hard to find, but they are out there. This method requires no changes on the 400 end. 2. Using the 7852-400 in async mode with a async line description and terminal emulation software. You could set it up using SLIP or PPP depending on what version of OS/400 you have on the 400. This requires some reading up on. 3. Buy a cheap controller(5219 $100) and a local emulation card for your pc. This solution requires a sync modem on your end but is very easy to use and put in place. Used modem for $200. This would be a pure SDLC solution and might not be what you are looking for, but it's flat dead simple and very stable. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
