A limit is a limit (well - maybe a DISK-file can be overridden to a print file - I have only tried this with CPF-commands way back. Also a SPECIAL file may call a printing program). But much depends on what facilities you need. Is '9 files' needed to distribute print to 9 different locations. Can you get the input in that sequence? Then you only need 1 PRINTER. Close and reopen this device file if you need more spool files. Hi there, Apparently there is a limit of 8 printer files allowed in a RPG program. I have a program that needs to use 9 (possibly more). Any ideas on how to achieve this (other than duplicating and splitting the process into 2 programs).
