Yes, but a well designed GUI will enable you to choose between the mouse or a combination of key strokes. I try not to use my mouse but learn the key strokes. It is faster for me. But when learning a new application, the mouse make the learning curve shorter and easier. Some software shows the key strokes besides the menu options which really helps to learn the key strokes while using the mouse. I like having a choice, period. The best from BOTH worlds. Get better designed software then. This indicates to me that the GUI software is badly engineered. Dropdown boxes, listboxes, subfiles and menubars save steps, keep navigation simple, and reduce user training times dramatically. I hear you about the mouse and soreness; that in itself is a compelling argument. But an adequately designed GUI will be faster and easier to use in every regard than even the best designed green screen. _______________________ Booth Martin Booth@MartinVT.com http://www.MartinVT.com +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
