Greetings,

We had a batch job halt because it was trying to open a file that was
being purged/re-organized in another job. The job log showed the
following message prior to the unable to allocate message.

Message ID . . . . . . : CPF3CDB Severity . . . . . . . : 40

Message type . . . . . : Escape
Date sent . . . . . . : 08/30/00 Time sent . . . . . . :
05:26:01
Message . . . . : Exit point QIBM_QDB_CLOSE with format DBCL0100
does not
  exist.
Cause . . . . . : The exit point specified does not exist.
Recovery . . . : Do one of the following and try the request again:

-- Correct the spelling of the exit point or format name.
-- Ensure the exit point requested exists.

The system is an 620 at V4R4M0 Cum PTF 147, upgraded last winter from
V4R2M0.

I checked the Midrange-L archives which list the message id but always
associated with FTP. Although the messages mentioned APARs when I
searched the IBM Knowledge Base (Registered) I didn't get any hits on
the message ID. Does this mean that something in OS/400 is missing or
messed up?

TIA

Roger Vicker, CCP
